A fingerboard is a miniature version of a skateboard that is controlled with your fingers instead of your feet. Just like a full-sized skateboard, it consists of a small deck, trucks, wheels, and accessories such as its own griptape.
To use a fingerboard, place two fingers on the deck and move them to perform tricks. You can move your fingers like legs while skating to try different tricks, including ollies, kickflips, heelflips, 50-50 grinds, nosegrinds, and many more. The possibilities are nearly endless and depend on your skills and creativity.
Fingerboard decks come in various sizes and shapes, similar to regular skateboards. The standard size for fingerboards is typically between 96mm and 100mm in length. There are inexpensive plastic fingerboard decks, but also high-quality ones made of multiple layers of wood, just like large skateboards.
Additionally, in our range, you will find small obstacles specially designed for fingerboards. With them, you can create your own miniature skatepark at home.
Besides pure fun, fingerboarding offers additional benefits, such as:
Fingerboarding originated in the 1980s as a type of "skateboarding for the desk." Initially, it was used by skateboarders to practice tricks and moves when they couldn't be on their boards. These early fingerboards were often homemade and not as refined as today's models.
The true popularization of fingerboarding began in the 1990s when the company Tech Deck released its first fingerboards. These miniature skateboards were produced at a scale of 1:64 and featured movable parts like trucks and wheels, allowing for the replication of real skateboard tricks.
In the early 2000s, the fingerboard community grew significantly. Enthusiasts began designing their own boards and accessories, and specialized fingerboard brands like Blackriver and Flatface emerged. These brands offered high-quality fingerboards, ramps, and other accessories, making fingerboarding even more realistic and diverse.
As fingerboarding's popularity increased, the first official competitions and events were organized. The first Fingerboard World Championships took place in the early 2000s, providing a platform for fingerboarders from around the world to showcase their skills and compete.
Today, there are numerous brands and models producing high-quality fingerboards, and the community of fingerboarders continues to grow.
