Front and rear axles secure the wheels to the fork or deck. Since axles are subjected to heavy and continuous loads—especially when using pegs—we only stock axles with the highest stability and durability. Our selection includes a variety of options, including standard 8mm axles that fit most common scooters, as well as special thicker axles known as 12STD with a 12mm diameter. However, note that 12STD axles only fit specific forks and decks, so be sure to check compatibility before purchasing.
Our threaded axles can be tightened with a secured nut and a 6mm Allen key. These axles are solid inside, making them extremely stable, perfect for stunt scooter riding.
Our internal thread axles are suitable for 5mm Allen keys, are hollow inside, and therefore not as durable. However, they are lighter compared to threaded axles, making them advantageous for riders who prioritize low weight.
Ensure you select the correct size of axles and bolts. Both the diameter and length are crucial. If you're unsure which axle fits your setup, feel free to contact us.
Can I replace the axles and bolts on my stunt scooter myself?
Yes, replacing them can generally be done by yourself as long as you have the right tools. Be sure to use high-quality tools and handle them carefully. Otherwise, the axles can wear out quickly and may become difficult to open.
Are all axles and bolts standardized and interchangeable?
No, not all axles and bolts are standardized. There are different sizes and thread types. It’s important to know the dimensions of your axles and bolts and choose the appropriate parts. If you need help, feel free to reach out to us.
What tools do I need to change axles and bolts?
A 5mm and 6mm Allen key (also known as a hex key) and a 13mm wrench are the most common tools needed to change axles and bolts. Brands like Ethic also use Torx keys.
How do I properly tighten the bolts on my stunt scooter?
Tighten the bolts firmly, but don't overdo it. Over-tightening can damage the thread. For clamps, it’s recommended to tighten each bolt slightly in turn so that the pressure isn’t concentrated on one bolt alone.
How often should I check the axles and bolts on my stunt scooter?
It’s recommended to regularly check the axles and bolts for tightness and damage. If you ride intensively, this should be done before each session.
