Stunt scooter pegs are cylindrical extensions that are mounted on the axles of a scooter. They allow riders to perform various tricks such as grinds and stalls by providing additional contact points with obstacles. They are available for both the front and rear wheel.
Stunt scooter pegs are made from aluminum, steel, or plastic. Steel pegs are extremely durable and therefore long-lasting, but heavy. Aluminum pegs, on the other hand, are lightweight but wear down quickly due to their softness. A rare form of pegs are plastic pegs, which slide very well. However, plastic pegs wear out quickly.
Due to the trend towards wider decks and box ends at the back, pegs have become rare nowadays. Many tricks that used to require pegs can now be easily performed with a wider deck.
The choice of the right pegs depends on your riding style and preferences. Aluminum pegs are ideal for those looking for a good balance between weight and durability. Steel pegs are suitable for intense rides and heavy grinds. Pegs come in different lengths and diameters. Shorter pegs are lighter and less obstructive, while longer pegs provide more space for grinds.
For length, you should not use more than 50mm, as your stunt scooter might easily scrape the ground. If you're unsure which pegs to choose, we're happy to help.
Pegs usually require longer axles, which is why they are often sold as sets with extended axles. Each axle can hold two pegs, one on each side, which requires even longer axles. To install pegs, you need to remove the axle bolts, place the pegs in the desired position, and then tighten the axle bolts again. You may need longer axles to securely attach the pegs. When installing rear pegs, make sure to place them on the side you do not push off from to avoid getting caught with your foot.
Pegs can slightly change the feel and handling of your scooter. They increase the weight and can affect the center of gravity, which can impact tricks and maneuvers. However, many riders quickly adapt and use the pegs for additional tricks.
Aluminum pegs are lighter and offer a good balance between weight and durability. Steel pegs are heavier but extremely durable and ideal for intense grinds and tricks that require extra stability.
