The popular Micro kids' scooters, such as the Micro Mini and Micro Maxi kickboards, feature a patented steering system that promotes balance through weight shifting. Additionally, the handlebar on all Micro models is height-adjustable and therefore grows with your child. A Micro Mini 3in1 can be used by the same child for up to 4 years and then easily passed on to the next child.
Here we present the different kids' scooters from Micro:
The Micro Mini starts from an age of 1-5 years, making it the ideal introduction to the world of scooters for your child. The decks are reinforced with fiberglass and have a non-slip coating. Thanks to the intuitive steering, even the youngest children can quickly experience their first riding successes. Although this is purely through shifting weight, it is still stable thanks to the two front wheels. This simply means that the scooter stands on its own, making learning to ride a scooter very safe. Since the first few meters work immediately, no frustration builds up.
As your child gains experience with the kickboards, later riding a bicycle or a scooter with a front wheel becomes much easier. Additionally, it helps in practicing the distribution and control of their own body weight.
With certain Micro Mini versions with a seat, like the Micro 3in1, but also the Micro Mini2go and Micro Mini2grow, the first attempts at riding can be made at just 12 months old. Your child initially sits like on a ride-on toy, with the big difference that the balance steering is already used here, promoting motor skills. As your child grows, you can easily convert the scooter into the classic Micro Mini by removing the seat. There is also an extendable push bar so you can push your child without bending over.
Of course, every Micro Mini model is also available as an LED version. Here, the wheels light up purely magnetically when riding, which excites every child.
The Micro Maxi scooter is the larger and more stable version of the Micro Mini. It can be ridden from about 5 years old up to around 12 years old. The main difference from the Micro Mini is that the steering is even more stable and designed for a higher weight. The handlebar is also higher, and the Micro Maxi has two 80mm wheels at the back instead of one. Here too, the scooter is steered by weight shifting. The Micro Maxi also comes with LED wheels so your child is more visible on the road.
Finally, there are the well-known Micro Sprite and Micro Cruiser. While the Micro Sprite can be ridden by both children and adults, the Cruiser is an extended version of the Micro Sprite with larger wheels and a wider handlebar. The latter is adjustable, so the Sprite grows with you into adulthood. The Micro Sprite has only one front wheel, with classic steering like a bicycle. Therefore, the scooter doesn't stand on its own like the Micro Mini and Maxi. Nonetheless, the Micro Sprite is one of the most popular scooters, especially for children from school age. It is almost entirely made of aluminum, making it very robust and durable. However, you shouldn't perform jumps with it, as the folding mechanism can break. If you like jumping or doing tricks, you'll have much more fun with a stunt scooter.
The Micro Cruiser has a similar deck to the Sprite but is equipped with 200mm wheels, making the ride more comfortable and faster. For longer distances, you're definitely at an advantage with it. Both the Micro Sprite and the Micro Cruiser are available in LED versions. Note that the handlebar on the Cruiser can only be extended to a height of 89cm, so it can be ridden until around the age of 15.
Micro scooters are by far the most popular entry-level scooters for the youngest children and have been passed down from generation to generation for a long time. The high quality of Micro scooters makes this easily possible.
Depending on the model, Micro also offers extras such as LED wheels for better visibility, LED lights for the handlebar, fun bells, and carry straps for the Micro Sprite. Parts like wheels or grips may need to be replaced over time, especially if the vehicle is to be passed on to the next child. If you need spare parts for your Micro Mini, Micro Maxi, Micro Cruiser, or Micro Sprite, you can find them here.
Micro kids' scooters are known not only for their quality but also for their attractive design. You can find Micro Minis in all imaginable colors, optionally with transparent decks, those in a pastel look, or in glitter optics. Sustainability is also ensured with the models of the ECO line, which use recycled fishing nets for the decks, cork for the grips, and environmentally friendly paint.
From what age can my child start scootering?
Micro scooters can be ridden from as early as the 1st birthday. Thanks to the seat and adjustable handlebar, models like the Micro 3in1 can be used from 1-5 years old. We recommend the classic scooter with one front wheel, such as the Micro Sprite, from the age of 4 years. Before that, learning to scooter is more challenging, but there are exceptions, and it ultimately depends on your child.
Why should I buy my child a Micro scooter?
Micro scooters stand for high quality. The brand offers a 2-year warranty, which rarely needs to be used thanks to the good workmanship.
